Information covered by this policy

Personal information includes information handled through Shopify and other providers on our behalf, even when we do not maintain a separate copy.

Depending on your interaction with the store, the following categories may be processed:

  • Identity and delivery information: your name, shipping address, and billing address.
  • Contact and correspondence information: an email address or other contact information you provide, customer service messages, refund requests, and product photographs you submit.
  • Commercial information: products viewed or purchased, order details, amounts paid, payment status, delivery status, and refund records.
  • Payment information: payment details submitted through checkout and the transaction information supplied by payment providers. Do not send full card details or security codes to our support email.
  • Internet and device information: IP address, browser and device characteristics, cookie identifiers, referring pages, pages viewed, and interactions with products, checkout, or advertisements.
  • Marketing information: subscription choices, consent records, advertising identifiers, campaign interactions, and email engagement information where enabled.
  • Approximate location and interest information: general location inferred from technical information and interests inferred from browsing or purchasing activity.

The information processed depends on the services you use, the information you provide, the tracking features enabled, and your privacy choices.

Sources of information

We obtain information directly from you, automatically through your interaction with the website, and from providers involved in operating the store.

These providers include Shopify, payment services, fulfillment providers, carriers, analytics providers, and the advertising and email tools identified below.

How information is used

We use personal information as reasonably necessary to:

  • Receive, process, and fulfill orders.
  • Arrange delivery and communicate about purchases.
  • Process payments and refunds.
  • Respond to support requests and complaints.
  • Maintain transaction records and meet legal obligations.
  • Protect the website, detect fraud, and investigate misuse.
  • Understand website performance and customer interactions.
  • Measure advertising results and, where permitted, personalize advertising.
  • Send marketing communications where consent or another lawful permission applies.
  • Record and implement privacy choices.

Optional advertising and marketing activities are subject to applicable consent and opt-out requirements. Accepting the Terms of service or purchasing a product does not, by itself, constitute consent to every marketing or tracking activity.

Disclosure of information

Information may be disclosed to the following recipients for the stated purposes:

  • Shopify: website hosting, checkout, order administration, security, and related commerce functions.
  • Payment providers: payment authorization, transaction processing, fraud prevention, and refunds.
  • Fulfillment providers and carriers: information necessary to prepare and deliver orders, including the recipient’s name and address.
  • Analytics and advertising providers: technical identifiers, browsing activity, campaign information, and purchase events used for measurement and advertising, subject to applicable choices.
  • Klaviyo: contact information, subscription preferences, and relevant activity used to manage permitted email communications.
  • Professional advisers and authorities: information reasonably necessary for legal, accounting, regulatory, or dispute-related purposes.
  • Parties to a business transfer: information necessary for a lawful merger, acquisition, restructuring, or transfer of the business, subject to applicable confidentiality and privacy requirements.

Disclosures are limited to information appropriate for the relevant purpose. Providers processing information on our behalf must handle it consistently with applicable legal requirements.

Some providers also process information for their own purposes under their privacy policies. Shopify describes its separate consumer processing in its Consumer Privacy Policy.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. Pixels, tags, local storage, and similar technologies can record website or email interactions. Some tracking also occurs through communications between servers and is not controlled solely by deleting browser cookies.

Necessary technologies support functions such as checkout, security, and saving privacy preferences. Optional technologies support analytics, advertising, and marketing.

The tools used by Chery Edit are:

Tool Purpose
Meta Pixel Measures website actions associated with Meta advertising, supports campaign attribution, and enables advertising audiences and personalization where permitted.
Wetracked Connects store activity and purchase events with advertising sources and helps transmit conversion information to connected advertising platforms. Its operation may include server-based tracking. Provider information.
Google Analytics 4 Measures website visits, navigation, product interactions, and purchase events to understand website performance. Google Analytics data information.
Google Ads Measures advertising conversions and supports campaign attribution, audience creation, and personalized advertising where enabled and permitted. Google advertising data information.
TikTok Pixel Records website events to measure advertising results, optimize campaigns, and support advertising audiences. TikTok Pixel information.
Klaviyo Manages email subscriptions and communications, audience segmentation, and, where enabled, website activity and email open or click measurement. Klaviyo tracking information.

How to refuse tracking or withdraw consent

You can refuse optional cookies through the website’s cookie controls. You may change your choices using the available privacy controls or contact contact@cheryedit.com to withdraw consent or request that optional advertising processing stop.

Where prior consent is legally required, optional tracking must not operate without that consent. Where an opt-out right applies, we apply the request to the relevant processing, including advertising disclosures made through server-based integrations.

You can also:

  • Block or delete cookies through your browser settings.
  • Use Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on for supported browser-based Analytics tracking.
  • Adjust advertising preferences within your Google, Meta, or TikTok account.
  • Enable a recognized opt-out preference signal, such as Global Privacy Control, in a supporting browser.

Browser controls and provider account settings have different scopes. Blocking browser cookies alone may not stop all server-based processing. Contact us if you wish to opt out of advertising disclosures associated with information you have provided directly.

Privacy choices may need to be renewed if you change browsers or devices or delete the cookie that stores your preference. Refusing optional tracking does not prevent you from making a purchase, although disabling necessary technologies may affect checkout functionality.

Email marketing

Marketing emails are sent only where permitted under applicable consent and electronic marketing rules.

You can unsubscribe using the link in a marketing email or by contacting contact@cheryedit.com. We process unsubscribe requests within the applicable legal deadline. Order confirmations, delivery updates, refund messages, and other necessary service communications may continue.

Canadian commercial messages are subject to applicable consent, sender identification, and unsubscribe requirements under Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation.

International processing

Cobalt Commerce LLC is based in the United States. Personal information may be processed outside your state, province, or country.

Overseas recipients may include providers in the United States and China, together with the countries used by our technology providers. These disclosures concern the handling of personal information.

Foreign authorities may be able to access information under the laws of the jurisdiction where it is processed. We remain responsible for obligations applicable to information entrusted to providers acting on our behalf and apply the contractual or other safeguards required by applicable law.

You may contact contact@cheryedit.com for information about relevant recipients, processing locations, and safeguards. Australian requirements concerning overseas disclosure apply where the Privacy Act 1988 covers the processing. Australian privacy guidance.

Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, subject to applicable legal requirements.

The criteria used to determine retention are:

  • Names, addresses, and order records: the time needed to fulfill the order, address delivery or refund issues, and satisfy applicable tax, accounting, consumer protection, and dispute-related obligations.
  • Support communications and photographs: the time needed to resolve the matter and retain any record reasonably necessary for a related dispute or legal obligation.
  • Marketing information: the duration of the permitted marketing relationship, subject to withdrawal of consent or another applicable stopping point.
  • Consent and suppression records: the time reasonably needed to demonstrate compliance and ensure that an unsubscribe or opt-out choice continues to be respected.
  • Analytics and advertising information: the period reasonably necessary for the stated measurement purpose, subject to applicable choices and provider retention settings.
  • Security records: the period reasonably needed to detect, investigate, and address security or fraud concerns.

When continued retention is no longer justified, information is deleted or anonymized in accordance with applicable law. Information subject to a lawful preservation requirement may be retained for that limited purpose.

These criteria reflect the principle that information should not be retained indefinitely without a continuing justification. Canadian retention guidance.

California privacy rights

Where the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, applies, eligible California residents may:

  • Request the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected about them.
  • Request information about sources, purposes, and recipient categories.
  • Request deletion, subject to statutory exceptions.
  • Request correction of inaccurate information.
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.
  • Limit certain uses or disclosures of sensitive personal information where that right applies.
  • Exercise their rights without unlawful discrimination.

The collection categories, sources, purposes, recipients, and retention criteria are described above. These disclosures also describe the corresponding categories used during the preceding 12 months, to the extent the relevant activities occurred during that period.

Advertising integrations can disclose online identifiers, browsing activity, purchase events, approximate location, and related interest information to advertising partners. Where matching features are enabled, contact identifiers may also be used. Such disclosures can constitute a “sale” or “sharing” under California law even without a monetary payment.

California rights and their applicability are explained by the California Attorney General.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

To request an opt-out, use the website’s relevant privacy controls or email contact@cheryedit.com with your request. You do not need to create an account or provide identity documents merely to opt out, although information needed to identify the relevant browser or customer record may be necessary.

Where required by law, we honor Global Privacy Control as an opt-out preference signal for the browser or device transmitting it and apply it to an associated customer profile when legally required and reasonably identifiable.

We do not treat a legacy browser “Do Not Track” setting as a substitute for these controls. Our response to legally recognized opt-out preference signals is separate from our treatment of legacy Do Not Track settings.

We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of individuals under 16 without the authorization required by applicable law.

Submitting and verifying privacy requests

Send privacy requests to contact@cheryedit.com. Include enough information for us to identify the relevant interaction or order. We may verify identity or authority when necessary to protect personal information.

An authorized agent may act on your behalf, subject to the verification permitted by law. We will not request more information than reasonably necessary for verification.

For requests governed by the CCPA, we acknowledge requests to know, correct, or delete within 10 business days and provide a substantive response within 45 calendar days, subject to a permitted extension and notice. Applicable sale or sharing opt-outs and sensitive-information limitation requests are implemented as soon as feasible and within 15 business days. California request procedures.

If a request is denied or limited, we explain the reason to the extent legally permitted. Where applicable state law provides an appeal right, you may appeal by replying to our response or emailing contact@cheryedit.com.

Canadian privacy rights

Where Canadian privacy legislation applies, you may request access to your personal information, seek correction, ask how it has been used or disclosed, and withdraw consent subject to legal or contractual restrictions.

We explain any consequences of withdrawing information necessary to complete a transaction. Optional marketing consent is separate from information necessary to process an order.

Requests governed by PIPEDA are generally answered within 30 calendar days, subject to permitted extensions. Additional rights may apply under provincial law, including applicable portability or deletion rights. You may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the competent provincial authority. Canadian access rights.

Australian privacy rights

Where the Privacy Act 1988 applies, you may request access to your personal information, seek correction, and complain about a possible breach of applicable privacy obligations.

Contact contact@cheryedit.com with the details of your concern. We will review the complaint and respond within a reasonable time or any shorter period required by law. If you remain dissatisfied, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Children

The store is intended for adult purchasers and is not directed to children under 13.

If you believe a child has provided personal information without the authorization required by law, contact contact@cheryedit.com so the matter can be reviewed and appropriate action taken.

Security

We apply reasonable safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information and the risks involved. Access should be limited to persons and providers who need the information for an authorized purpose.

No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Any notification required following a personal information breach will be made in accordance with applicable law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in processing or legal requirements. The updated version will display a revised date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before applying a materially different use of previously collected information.
